Updated for the TOEFL iBT format introduced January 21, 2026

The TOEFL iBT changed in 2026. Preparation should reflect the test students take now, not the retired independent and integrated speaking format.
Practice Complete the Words, Read in Daily Life, and Read an Academic Passage tasks. Difficulty adapts as you progress, with explanations for vocabulary, purpose, inference, and evidence questions.
Train with Listen and Choose a Response, conversations, announcements, and academic talks. Review why an answer is supported and which listening signal you missed.
Practice Listen and Repeat and Take an Interview tasks. Get feedback on intelligibility, accuracy, fluency, language control, and how completely you answer the prompt.
Prepare for Build a Sentence, Write an Email, and Write for an Academic Discussion. Feedback focuses on task completion, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and clarity.
TOEFL score reports now use a 1–6 scale aligned with CEFR levels. During the transition, ETS also provides a comparable overall score on the former 0–120 scale.
Track estimated performance on the current scale instead of relying only on the retired 0–30 section display.
See which section and task type needs attention, then direct practice time toward that gap.
Build pacing and concentration with section practice and representative mock tests based on the current task families.
